"What does sustainability look like?" -- Visualizing Sustainability

"Professional Visual Facilitators Mariah Howard and Julie Gieseke bring whiteboards, pens, cameras and one question to the Maker Faire: What does sustainability look like? Here is the harvest of images they discovered from the Makers"

This is quoted from an introduction of a youtube footage: "Visualizing Sustainability".

You can learn how people improvise with simply a pen and a whiteboard to draw their ideas. Sharing is such simple and fun!! Enjoy it!

  1. Great project!

I am always wondering what they do with the results in a project like this... do they in the end try to summerize all the gathered thought and re-combine tehm into one result visual? Or is the act of doing this with all the participants of the day enough to realize and inspire...?

Personally I always like to summerize... because then you can share better. Keeping the momentum going is a big part of causing real change.

    just a thought

  2. I do agree with your idea to put all their drawings together and try to summarize them. People will feel fun to see others' work and that big graffiti wall would become an interesting catalyst for a mutual dream of sustainability. :)

And indeed it is also fun to see people improvise in this way. If they got a chance to "show off", I believe they must be more eager to share.
